Fun With Paint Chips

I first saw this project over on Pinterest and followed the link through to Modern Parents, Messy Kids.  How cute is it??

I love how it turned out.

I used a larger hole punch so I could thread it with ribbon instead of string and I think mine has more eggs, but those were the only real changes I made.  Just had to share in case anyone else wanted to try!

This may very well be the most Easter decorating I've ever done, aside from making Easter baskets.  Anyone have any other fun decorating ideas?

One more shot with better color:

Sorry about the flash... it was late.

  1. Oh my gosh I've been seeing these on Pinterest too and so want to do one! Not sure I'll have time before Sunday, but maybe next year. Did you see the mobile made out of (I think) circles cut from paint chips? Such a good idea! What did you use to cut them out? Did you just trace an egg shape on each and cut with scissors?

  2. I did see the mobile! I LOVE that idea! I think they are made of paint chips too... not sure but that is my best guess. If you had a circle punch thing it would be pretty easy to put that together, I think.

I pretty much just followed her tutorial verbatim: I printed up an egg stencil, drew an egg on the back of each of the paint chips and then just cut them out with scissors. It probably took maybe 2 hours total? I didn't worry about making it too perfect, though. I kind of like that they aren't perfect perfect.
